Allie Bertram

Calgary-born Allie Bertram was voted top female dancer and runner up in Canada's inaugural season of the very popular television series SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE. While she has trained in all areas of dance over the past 15 years, she has a strong love of ballet. Before competing on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, Allie studied at the Boston Ballet as well as competing in the internationally renowned Genee International Ballet Competition, where she received a bronze medal. Additionally, Allie has attained a Solo Seal ranking as a ballerina. Allie's interest in ballet provided the opportunity to work with a variety of inspirational teachers and choreographers, as well as travel extensively across North America and Europe studying and performing.

Allie was born in Calgary, Alberta, where she graduated from the Edge School for Athletes. During her studies, Allie had the opportunity to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa. Upon reaching the summit, Allie donned her pointe shoes and practiced different ballet poses. Inspired by this trek, one of Allie's favorite quotes is: "Mountains are Arrows Pointing Up".

We met Allie as a skoah product and facial fan, and quickly realized she was an inspiration to our krew and to our community.

Most recently, Allie has relocated from Calgary to Vancouver, to pursue new opportunities as a dancer and actor. In this new path, Allie will look to her strong work ethic and goal-setting ability to help her overcome challenges. Allie will also look to her passion for the practice of yoga, as well as her health-focused lifestyle to maintain a sense of balance.
